What has been your favorite thing to learn about in Texas History so far this year? Why? Please explain for full credit. Have a safe and FUN Spring Break! -Mrs. Buchanan
Because the debate help us learn the order of the events and which actually cause the spark of this revolution and how the major effect cause all the other events to lead to the Texas Revolution.
My favorite part of Texas history is the cattle drives. Without these, we would have not had more reason for the expansion of our railroads or economy.
My favorite part we've learned so far is about the Indians. I loved learning about this because I am 1/3 Indian and find this interesting to learn about how they adapt to their surroundings.
My favorite thing I have learned this year is about the slaves an their freedom, because I didn't know all the things that they did to them ,and all the ways the kept them seperate from the whites. I think we all can agree it was very cruel. I would like to learn more about it as well.
My favorite part of Texas History thus far was about the Battle of the Alamo. After learning, reading, and watching movies on how it happened, why it happened, and what led up to it amazes me. Its an unexplainable feeling when you can go back to that historical landmark and remember all you've learned about what happened there. Being in the same place as those famous heros were before, seeing the carvings they made in the wall, walking through the same dorrways as them, it is beautiful to see something like that still standing and here today.
My favorite thing that we learned this year was about how Texas won its independence from Mexico because all of the battles happened in Texas and in other wars not all of the battles happened in Texas. But, what fascinated me the most was that although all of the battles were in present day Texas, back then they happened in Coahuila y Tejas, a part of Mexico
My favorite thing that happened in Texes history is when Texes finally jouned the US. If the US did not have Texas, lots of oil would not be owned by the US to support economy and war efforts. Sam Houston was a great leader over Texas and bet if we didn't join the US, Texas would have been probally owned by Mexico or another country. Texas a great tourist atraction like the Alamo and other places like when San Antonio de valaro and now today there is a San Antonio, with the river walk and so on. Anyway, thats why i admire the fact about Texas joining the US. GOD BLESS AMERICA AND TEXAS!!!!!
