Students

This is a note to my students from last year:

Hi!  I hope your 8th grade year is going very well and I wanted you to know that you are missed.  I have many keepsakes and notes from you all and from students from years past that keep me reminded of my home in Princeton.

An update on your former teacher:
Things are going well at my new school.  I am teaching 9th grade Geography and am still coaching.  I'm not coaching volleyball this year but will be doing basketball, track and soccer.
The drive home is only 5 miles as compared to the 55 miles it used to take me to get to you so you know I am loving that change.

Coach Walsh (Mr.) and my mother are doing well.  They still live in Princeton for now, so make sure you head over for Halloween!

We are all thrilled that my sister, Mrs. Lowder, is expecting another boy in April. I know some of you had her in 1st grade at Lacy Elementary, so I wanted to keep you updated on her.

I would love to hear from you and hear how you are doing this year.  If you find the time, drop me a line on the blog!

Best wishes to you all,

Mrs. Buchanan

  1. Hi Mrs. Buchanan! We all miss you very much here! It's awesome to hear from you. I'm glad you are doing well. I miss you so much in volleyball. I think you'd be proud of how I'm playing this year. Please keep in touch with us!
Ps: my mom is very hard on me in class this year. It's scary. Haha

    Have a great year!

  2. So glad to hear from you! Some of the sixth graders we told about you are disappointed that they didn't get to see you. Just a quick question, though: are you doing the blog thing for your students this year? Just wanted to know and possibly get permission to keep an eye on it. Anyways, have a great year!

    1. Ha! I bet those 6th graders were relieved!

We are NOT doing the blog this year. When/if I start it up again I'll post that information on this site. That is a promise.

I hope you are having a great year DJ. What have you done this year that you've loved? What kind of car are you working on now?

    2. I'm not repairing much for now, but my classes ing high school will help retrain me.

As of late, I've taken a passion to my guitars, and I'm hitting the strings pretty hard. I've gotten a lot better since (I believe I mentioned) last year.

I've missed your teaching, and schools been going fairly well. I've had some pretty entertaining power points this year.

Keep calm and teach more xD
Daniel Zydel (ps I've been trying to drop the DJ thing. It's getting really old now)

    3. Mr. Morris,
Your mama would be very worried if she could see your writing skills.....or lack of...
I do like my new school, but I definitely miss you guys. You guys were a great group and I was proud to be your teacher for a year.

How is this year going? Do you enjoy Mrs. Staley's class?

  15. 3 things.

1: I haven't forgotten you, just forgot about the blog. I was thinking about how you were doing in World Geo today.

2: School year's almost over, and I was thinking maybe you could do a "Visit the former students" sort of ordeal. I wonder how people of our classes would react to that!

3: Actually got the guts to try my hand at woodworking, and now have sawdust in my garage and a handmade guitar in my room.

Have a great final six weeks and an awesome summer!

    1. 1) I actually teach World Geography here at my new school. How do you like the class?
      2) I actually did come back for a volleyball game back in October. I am going to hope that I get some graduation invites as you guys get closer to moving on from PHS.
      3) That is awesome. You'll have to post some pictures of your work. I'd love to see your guitar. I recently went back to pottery and I'm hooked again. I'll try to post a picture.

I think I'll post a new blog topic and see how many of you keep an eye on your email.

      Big summer plans?

      -Mrs. Buchanan

    2. World Geo is fun for the most part. Coach Hackman keeps the class awake with his awful jokes xD.
You can definitely bet I'll be inviting you to our graduation.
Pottery is fun. Tried it once and made a small plant pot. Unfortunately, I don't have a photo of it, but I have put a sound test video up on youtube here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OrFLlSWy_D4 <--- Sorry for the glare ahead of time :P
The neck is off another guitar, but the body is completely handmade, as I haven't built the finesse for neck work yet. Getting there though.
As for summer plans, nothing other than my job and maybe a few small gigs with my band. I'm trying to make a few more guitars for my friends, and the materials cost me around 125-150$ apiece.
